Harvest Moon Winery Goes Solar, Reducing Green House Emissions

(Rohnert Park, CA)For over 50 years the land of the Russian River Valley has provided Harvest Moon Estate and Winery very well. By installing a solar installation that significantly reduces green house emissions, the Pitts family is doing their part to preserve that very land.

“We went solar because it was the right thing to do for our small, family winery and also Mother Nature,” explains winemaker Randy Pitts. Over the next 25 years the amount of CO2 reductions provided by the installation will be equivalent to planting 19,868 trees or a small car driving 1,683,729 miles.

Environmentally, installing the 23 kilowatt photovoltaic system is the responsible choice, financially, it is as well. The 100 solar modules and 3 inverters installed by Westcoast Solar Energy will immediately reduce Harvest Moon Winery’s electricity bill by approximately 95%. “These guys operate with a high degree professionalism and clean tradesmanship,” said Randy Pitts of the Westcoast Solar Team.

Westcoast Solar Energy is a full service independent solar integrator based in Sonoma County. Every installation, residential or commercial, is custom designed to meet the job's energy requirements and the natural potential of the location.
